OHC Events Calendar

Overview:
To schedule and maintain a regular calendar of events open to OHC participants. Camp-outs, blots, meetings, blacksmithing workshops, guest speakers, story festivals and religious gatherings.

Stevensson Hof: Ohio's 1st Public Hof

Overview:
Provide materials, support, funding and feedback for the restoration of a physical structure to be dedicated as Ohio's first Hof to be used by those in the Ohio Heathen community for gatherings, rites of passage and religious observances.

Milestones:
Fall 2008: Speaking engagements began. Donation Pool and pledges of labor hours to refurbish physical space laid out
Feb 2009: Official oath taken to establish the Hof as a frithsted
March-June: Renovations and repairs started
Summer 2009: Renovation ongoing

Our Rites: Work to have Ohio recognize marriages performed by Heathen Clergy and Officiates

Overview:
At present, heathens in the Ohio region are hard pressed to find clergy who can or will solemnize their marriage rite. This situation creates a vacuum of custom and culture whereby heathens and their families are not encouraged or empowered to request, enjoy and celebrate the rites of their beliefs. Proposed, the formation of a coalition of kindreds and independent heathens that will sign off on paperwork required by the state for clergy to solemnize marriage, thus allowing local kindreds to appoint a "justice of the peace" who can perform the rite and sign the marriage license both.
